What It Takes To Become A Commercial Airline PilotThere are many different types of commercial pilot, from small commuter planes to overseas flights to cargo planes. Regardless of the type of commercial pilot, they all need to go through the same commercial pilot training. Whether it is precious human cargo or important packages, there is extensive training that is required to become a commercial airline pilot. One of the advantages of going through the highest levels of commercial pilot training is being able to work with a full staff behind you that will take care of all the organizational aspects of the flights. In order to become a commercial airline pilot for one of the largest national carriers, with the largest staff on hand, a commercial pilot must have years of experience. Usually, after completing pilot training, a commercial pilot must spend some time flying for commuter or domestic carriers, and after so many hours they can get their required qualifications and move on to better jobs. A commercial pilot is paid in relation to the type of airplane they are flying. For example, flying a jet earns more money than flying a turboprop. In the United States, basic commercial pilot training is the first step to a lucrative career, after which the pilots can advance their careers with more experience and fitness levels. They can become a charter pilot, an air-taxi pilot, a search and rescue pilot, and eventually an international commercial pilot with the right experience and qualifications. In other countries, however, some military service is required to become a commercial airline pilot.
