What Does Private Pilot Training Mean

People who want to be pilots on a private plane must first follow a private pilot training program held within a flight school. Graduating from such a school will bring the student a Private Pilot Certificate.

Private pilot training is about gaining basic knowledge on navigation, meteorology, airmanship and communication. Following such a program will allow the graduates to fly anywhere under Visual Flight Rules (VFR) and carry passengers too. This is one of the most wanted and satisfying pilot ratings as smaller ratings do not allow the pilot to fly with more than one passenger and do not allow them to fly on long distances either.

A private pilot training will teach the future pilot what to do in case of emergency situations, how to communicate with airports, to understand airports operations and Federal Aviation regulations, to know about airspace restrictions, and to fly during the night.

Those who want to follow private pilot training must be at least 17 years old and have a third class medical certificate. Some flight schools are collaborating with doctors and they tell you exactly what papers you need when going to the doctor, when you must go for doing blood tests and other analyses and what else is needed for getting your medical certificate. They do save a lot of the student's time with this.

After finishing the private pilot training program in most of the cases students will have at least 40 flight hours and 20 hours of dual instruction done. These 40 hours are divided into 3 hours of cross country training, 3 hours of instrument training, 3 hours of night flight practice, 3 hours of preparation for the exam, and 10 hours of solo flight.

Private pilot training is not that difficult as it seems and those who like flying and have a little spare time to learn for the exam will get their Private Pilot Certificate for sure.
