Ways To Become A Pilot

If you consider taking an airline pilot training course, you need to know that there are at least four ways to do it, even if you practically have no idea how to fly.

The first way is to go to a flying school. You'll attend it for at least a year and you can go from having zero knowledge to obtaining an ATPL. The advantage of this method of airline pilot training is the fact that most airline companies require the certificate issued by those schools and once you get it, you are eligible as a pilot for all those who have a vacant job.

The second way is to join the air force. You also become eligible for airlines if you have enough experience, but the bad things about this method of airline pilot training are that you have to commit yourself to a minimum period of service and you are not so well paid. In case the two options do not actually suit your interests, there are two other options to choose from if you really want to benefit from an airline pilot training.

What you can do is learning to fly in addition to studying a degree, because there are some universities that offer this possibility. The main advantage of that method is that it costs less than a regular flying school and you are also getting and ATPL in the end. It takes longer, it's true, but it's worth the effort as you can simultaneously obtain the flying certificate and the degree.

Eventually, airline pilot training can be done through grants offered by the airline companies. Although these programs are decreasing each year, there are still few companies that organize such airline pilot training programs and those who graduate them are immediately employed within the respective company for a minimum period.
