The Commercial Pilot School Process

Commercial pilot school prepares people to become professional pilots, which means that they can be financially compensated for their flight services. The type of pilot training that takes place at a commercial airline pilot school has a focus on understanding the aircraft system and what it means to be a pilot. During commercial pilot school, a student learns how to operate a complex plane, and they are required to fly a turbine-powered aircraft for a certain number of hours.

Aside from the in-air pilot training, flight students must also prepare for a practical examination on the instrumental operations of a complex aircraft before becoming a commercial pilot. The commercial pilot school prepares students to get their certificate, which does not allow them to carry passengers professionally by itself. After completing commercial airline pilot school and becoming certified, a pilot can do many different types of commercial work, such as banner towing, agricultural applications, and photography.

To fly professionally, a pilot must also get a second class medical certificate from their pilot school, which is valid for one year. The commercial license that a student receives at the end of commercial pilot school also makes them eligible to be paid for instructing, if they get a flight instructor certificate in addition to the standard license. There are separate regulations that make a person eligible for public passenger flights, though, which a commercial airline pilot school can further train them for. The commercial certificate, however, will reduce the pilot's insurance premiums, because it is evidence of pilot training to a higher safety standard.
