Requirements To Become A Commercial Airline PilotThere are many different things required to become a commercial airline pilot. A commercial airline pilot must go through all the steps to get their license or certificate, and gain a high level of in-flight experience. A student must be at least 18 years of age before they begin commercial pilot school, as well, and they must be in good health without any major handicaps. That is not all, though; the list of requirements for pilots goes on. To become a commercial airline pilot must also have perfect 20/20 vision without glasses, which limits the people who can train for careers in the sky. If all the physical and age requirements are met, then an individual can begin basic commercial pilot school, which covers all the bookwork. A commercial airline pilot can then begin flying with an instructor, who puts them through various situations to prepare for dealing with emergencies. They must complete an initial 250 hours of flying with an instructor before moving on to the next level. During commercial pilot school, students complete an instrument rating program to ensure the ability to fly using instruments, and a multi-engine rating program to fly aircraft with two or more engines. A commercial airline pilot needs to be fairly proficient with math and science, as well, because aviation technology demands a certain level of technical expertise. Those who have what it takes to become a commercial airline pilot have to jump through a lot of hoops to get to the point where they can begin their career, but those that do have much to look forward to.
