Preparing A Career In AviationThe aviation industry suffered some hard times following the September 11th attacks on the World Trade Center and the increased security delays at airports that followed. Despite these setbacks, however, the aviation industry continues growing. This means that in the coming years there will be a continued need for people who have undergone career pilot training. The first step those interested in career pilot training should take is getting a good education. Although types of aviation careers can vary greatly, from baggage handlers to pilots, education is a must for all of them. Strong math skills and computer training, however, are essential for those who are specifically interested in career pilot training. Both large and smaller, local airports that are spread all over the country offer different aviation career opportunities. There has been, for example, an increasing demand for career pilot training for small aircraft pilots. There are several options those wishing to pursue career pilot training can opt for. One option is private pilot training that can be started even during high school. Another viable possibility for those considering a career in aviation is the military. Being a pilot in the military, however, requires a college degree. If you are interested in other aspects of aviation, training that teaches the skills for aircraft repair and mechanical jobs can be provided. The general requirements for those who wish to follow career pilot training are for them to be eighteen years old and have good health, no physical handicaps, and 20/20 vision with or without glasses. The first step to career pilot training is the basic training, where a potential pilot learns the fundamentals. This is followed by flying with an instructor who puts the future pilots through various situations. This is to help them learn to cope well with emergencies. |
