Never Settle For A Bad Flight InstructorWhen people are working their way up from being a private pilot to a professional pilot, there's no reason why they shouldn't have a flight instructor that they get along with. Often times, a person might have many different instructors during the course of their flight instructor training, which is normal. There are often different instructors for different levels of training, but students should also be able to switch instructors if they don't like the flight instructor lesson plan or feel comfortable with that person. Choosing a flight instructor is like interviewing someone for a job - it is their job to instruct students properly, and they are being paid for it. There are many important factors to consider before choosing a person for flight instructor training, including the following: · Are their communication skills effective? · Are they safe? · Do they have a flight instructor lesson plan for students to track their progress? · Do they who up prepared for flight instructor training? · Do they brief students before and after each lesson to make sure they understand? · Do they seem bored during the lessons? If a flight instructor does not fulfill these criteria, there's no reason why an aviation student shouldn't be able to "fire" them and request another person they feel more comfortable with. If they aren't prepared with a comprehensible flight instructor lesson plan and make their students feel comfortable, they might have to go.
