Aside from the technical aspects of becoming a commercial airline pilot, there are many personal characteristics that are required to take on the responsibility of a cabin full of passengers. Before considering a commercial pilot training program, individuals should contemplate whether they are equipped to handle this huge responsibility. Not everyone is cut out to be a commercial pilot; do you have what it takes?

Here are some necessary traits of a good commercial pilot:

* Ability to instill confidence in passengers and crew

* Ability to keep passengers and crew from panicking in an emergency

 * Calm disposition during a crisis

Before one takes on the huge responsibilities of a commercial airline pilot, they should imagine themselves in the worst case scenarios that could happen during flight. Commercial pilot training can provide the knowledge of aircraft instruments, but it cannot provide the personal traits that make someone a good commercial pilot.
