Florida Flight Training Is Within ReachDespite what some people may believe, Florida flight training can actually be pretty affordable and within reach. There are Florida flight training schools that help people who dream of flying realize their ambitions. Florida pilot training is readily available to become a recreational pilot for a small aircraft, which is a fairly simple program. There is also easily accessible training to become a commercial pilot on a large aircraft, which is a little bit more time consuming, but very rewarding. In order to get a basic pilot license, Florida flight training schools require a minimum of 40 hours spent flying, as well as a series of ground coursework. This is actually a requirement of the Federal Aviation Administration, or FAA. Half of those hours must be spent with a certified instructor, which is part of any Florida pilot training program. The other in-air part of the Florida flight training must be done solo. Before a person can fly solo, Florida flight schools must determine if a student is physically qualified with no disabilities or vision impairments, and that they are old enough to do so. In order to begin basic flight training, a person must be 16 years old, and they can get their private license at age 17 and commercial license at age 18. After completing basic Florida flight training a person can become a certified private pilot, which can be done in as little as a month. Becoming a commercial aircraft pilot takes at least six months, though, because there is additional Florida pilot training required. While there is much more training and experience that is required to fly a large commercial passenger plane for one of the major international airlines, getting licensed for basic flights is actually very accessible. |
