Florida Commercial Pilot Training RequirementsSince there are so many safety and security issues involved in pilot training, Florida flight schools have many requirements that their commercial aviation students must fulfill. First of all, a person must be at least 18 years old to complete Florida commercial pilot training and get their license. A student must also have their private pilot certificate before they start commercial pilot training. Florida flight schools also require their students to be able to read, write, speak and comprehend English, as this is the international language of aviation. During Florida commercial pilot training, students accumulate and log a specified amount of training and experience. There is groundwork and actual flight experience that goes into any sort of pilot training. Florida commercial pilots must pass an oral test and flight test administered by an FAA inspector, FAA-designated examiner, or authorized check instructor to complete their pilot training. Florida also requires a certain number of hours with a certified instructor to get a commercial license. There are different types of Florida commercial pilot training, as well. If training under Part 61, at least 250 hours of piloting are required to complete commercial pilot training. Florida pilots must undergo 20 hours of training with an instructor and 10 hours of solo flight, and flying more than 50 nautical miles from the departure airport on both solo and instructor-accompanied night trips during flight training. Florida training under Part 141 requires at least 120 hours of training time, with 55 instructor hours, 10 solo hours, and several different cross-country, solo, and night flights.
