Basic Flight School RequirementsBeing able to fly is a dream for many people, and attending flight school can make this vision into a reality. With the assistance of a flight school instructor, future aviators complete all of the requirements to be whatever kind of pilot they want to be, as long as they are willing to put in the work. Flight schools require 40 hours of minimum flying time before a pilot's license is issued, in order to be in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration regulations. Students complete least 20 of those with their flight school instructor, after which 20 hours of regulated solo flights are completed. Flight schools can award private pilot's licenses in as little as a month, but only if the student is diligent. The Federal Aviation Administration requires students to provide a medical certificate of health, proof of age and physical competency before they can attend flight school. A written exam from one of the flight schools is also required to get a certified pilot's license. There are age requirements, as well, which vary by state. Anyone who wants to be able to fly can make their desires an actuality, and can even make a career out of it, if they are willing to work hard with their flight school instructor and put all the required work in. They must also be able to pay for the tuition, which there are often financial aid programs for, and they must have perfect vision without glasses.
