Aviation Career Pilot Training Phases

Once you have graduated from a flight school, your primary goal is that of getting the best job possible. However, you have to remember that the learning will not be stopped upon graduation. Once you are hired by a company, you will receive the aviation career pilot training based on the specific procedures and the FAA approved curriculum of the respective company.

Even though it might seem simple to learn, based on the fact that all airlines fly the same kinds of airplanes, some of these aviation career pilot training programmes might really be difficult and very different in methods and procedures. The goal of the hiring company is to enroll you in standard. No matter the pilot who flies an airplane, the flight should be carried on in the same manner as to avoid confusion. The initial aviation career pilot training takes about ten weeks and it includes training on general subjects, such as regulations and company-specific procedures, the aircraft systems and the equipments you will operate with. This is also the phase in which pilots are normally required to begin specialization on one type of airplane.

After this period of intensive training, you will get into the initial operating experience, which includes at least 25 hours of flight with an instructor. This part of the aviation career pilot training is meant to corroborate the technical skills you had acquired with the daily requirements of the job.

Eventually, the aviation career pilot training ends with a flight test, called the line check, which enables you to become a fully responsible crew member and actually begin your work.
